Description
Ward Construction was only one of a few select bidders willing to take on this most difficult summer project. For a successful project we need and needed to accomplish the following:
1. All subs needed to be under contract one week after the job bid, which we accomplished. The overall project is a major renovation that included a complete remodel of almost half of the school as we were required to gut the interior and rebuild 10 new classrooms and a new media center including: New drywall walls, floor finishes – ceramic, carpet & VCT, Div-10 specialties, new casework, new plumbing systems for classroom sinks & restrooms and new HVAC, electrical systems, fire alarm and data systems While the rest of the building is getting new mechanical ductwork distribution system and a new fire sprinkler system. We are also cutting in both 12 new skylights/solartubes and 4 new curtain wall window system.
2. All the subcontractor submittals needed to be obtained, thoroughly checked by Ward and submitted within 3 weeks of the project bid date, which they were.
3. Ward had to overcome a 3 week waiting period at the start of the project for the owner to complete enough asbestos work for Ward to get started on the project while the asbestos work continued on after we started and took 2 weeks longer than expected.
4. Utilizing our history of successful planning and determination to complete this most difficult short summer project on time.
