Description
Ward was selected as CM/GC for this childcare project (infants, toddlers, preschool) through an RFP response and interview process. This was a fast track project that had to be finished for the start of the 2nd semester as a condition of the funding on the project from a private foundation that had design starting in May and construction finishing in December- 7 months total, with 100 days of construction through the 100 year flood of September while foundations were going in to the zero degree temps of December as landscaping was finishing with limited site access. Wood framing was selected for the structure to facilitate the schedule. Other materials included prefinished cement fiber siding, EPDM and asphalt shingle roofing, and complete interior finishes. Sitework featured a new playground area, detention pond, water, storm, fire hydrant, sewer, gas, electric utilities, asphalt paving, concrete paving and sidewalks, and landscaping.
