Description
Ward was selected for this K-12 school through an interview process; started preconstruction services at the schematic design level and committed to a GMP at D.D.'s to assist in the funding associated with the owner's need to sell bonds.  This fast track school was ground-up on a 25-acre site, and was permitted through the State of Colorado.  The project consisted of full site work, including parking lots, site concrete, athletic facilities (with a soccer field and basketball courts), landscaping, and site utilities.  Three separate buildings were constructed: a two-story high school classroom building; a two-story middle/elementary school building; and a gymnasium/dining building.  Extensive site structural fill was required before foundations (footings) could start.  The classroom buildings were predominantly wood framed to assist with schedule and costs.  Exterior finishes included decorative block, synthetic stucco, standing seam metal and EPDM roofing and asphalt shingles.
